During the 2008 Cannonball One Lap of America, our team made 24 fuel stops with an average fuel price of $4.01 per gallon. CopMagnet II (2008 Corvette Z06) maintained an average combined fuel economy, including racetrack driving, of 20.67 miles per gallon. We think that this is great, considering it is a 200 mile per hour 505 horsepower car loaded with gear and driving to the limit in races. See our notes below.

Comments: Just met CPT Steven C Pierce and two of his deputy's from the LaPorte County Sheriffs Office. They were a great group of guys and allowed us to get some pictures of them with our car. They even went so far as to pose their three patrol cars behind the vette with their police strobe lights blinking! I'm sure they are but a few of the great guys we'll meet along the way!

Comments: Fueled up while looking for a hotel in the vicinity of MAM. Almost had a run in with some peculiar locals (perhaps non locals) at the truck stop. We went on our way, but couldnt find a hotel, so the nice security guard at MAM allowed us to sleep in their training room which had... CARPETING! Woo Hoo! To bed around 0400, up again at 0645.

Good morning for Mark as he finished 13th in the morning session, and improved dramatically in the afternoon session (official results are not out). We did the drag racing we missed at Lonestar.
